The Middle East is an area where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of around.
But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have pushed up the rate of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually come into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints in the world, one organization is taking benefit of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving rewarding too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
